SPECQUEST
we of re:ality hold certain events from time to time which are not mandatory, but help raise dB and build relationships.
this one in particular is mainly an experiment.
the requirements are simple:
write about your character going through the scenes unfolding within this thread. you do not need to start now. you may wait until the journey is finished before making anything.
it will be very clear when the story is done. after that, the countdown for the due date will begin. but not now.
you will see. trust us. go with the flow.
[ Villagers: ] "Terrorizing our people AGAIN?!" [ Villagers: ] "Kill the Corrupted!" [ Villagers: ] "When will you learn?!" [ Villagers: ] "We've never trusted you!" [ Villagers: ] "KILL THE C O R R U P T E D!" [ Villagers: ] "KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL!" [ You wake up in what seems to be the outskirts of Doodle. Another day seems to have passed. You're not really sure, since the concept of day and night is almost alien here. The sky changes when it wants to. You feel tired when the game wants you to.
Right now, your head hurts a lot. It was the side effect of falling asleep without realizing it. A killer headache.
That's why it took you a few seconds to realize someone was calling you. ][ ??: ] "Heroooooooooooo!" [ The NPC flies over to you, looking excited to find you lying there in a daze. ] [ Cheat: ] "Have you seen master Spectre lately?" [ Now that you think about it, you haven't. Not for some "days." You were just so busy that you didn't realize that the weird, colorful NPC wasn't around. It was definitely quieter without him. ] » No. Are you looking for him?[ Cheat: ] "Yes, kind of! I thought it was strange that he had gone missing for so long. He's actually supposed to be with you..." » Oh. Well...I am alone.[ Cheat: ] "Hehe, that you are, Hero! Sorry to have...bothered you...Hm..." [ Cheat: ] "Where could he have gone..." » Does it matter that much? It seems like Spectre would be the type to do whatever he wants. Maybe he's just taking a nap somewhere?[ Cheat: ] "Oh, Hero, I don't think you understand! It's master Spectre's duty to be with you at all times! So the fact that he hasn't been is very, very..." [ Cheat: ] "Abnormal." [ You get the feeling that this is more serious than it seems. ]
» Well, alright. What can I do to help?[ Cheat: ] "Help?!" » Er-- Well, I'm supposed to, right? The player helps people. I guess.[ Cheat: ] "..." [ Cheat: ] "Right you are again, Hero! Okay!" [ Cheat: ] "I'll go and look for him, and you ask around too!" [ They fly off again with a new burst of energy, probably due to your cooperation.
You said you would help, but you honestly aren't sure of where to start. Maybe with someone that's like Spectre? Another NPC? ]
We only have time to talk to a few NPCs for this event, so we cannot see all of them. Your choice must be someone from this list: Abe, Hungiie, Friie and Sport, Dyman, Mirror, Styl, and Goldfish. You may fast-travel to any of them, so distance is not an issue.

Velveteen isn't usually one to be so decisive. Especially in situations like this, but Spectre was different. He was weird, uncomfortable, even, but Spectre didn't feel dangerous. His friendliness was in abundance, and while most normal people wouldn't see it as anything other than being a fanatic, Velveteen wasn't normal. Spectre had made himself very clear from the start that they were friends, supported this statement with non-hostile advancements, and hadn't given Velveteen a sense of danger. Because of this, Spectre was Velveteen's first friend, and he had to do everything in his power to make sure he didn't go back to having none.
But Velveteen was at lost as to what to do. Nobody knew where Spectre went. And now that he thought about it, Velveteen had no clue as to where he would go! What a terrible friend he was turning out to be! Perhaps that is why Spectre went away...to find better friends and more qualified heroes...Shaking the negative thoughts from his mind, Velveteen decided that it wasn't the time to sulk. All it would do was make him give up before he tried. He just needed to dust off some of those unused sections of his brain and do some problem solving...
First, he had to find when was he last seen. Figuring that nobody has a clue were he went, it was less likely that the last person to see him lives in a populated area. In fact, it was probably one of those whimsical creatures like Cheat and Spectre himself who would know where Spectre was.
Abe was one he could think of. Hopefully he wouldn't be too busy to bother with him. Velveteen was well aware how much of a chore it was to talk to him.

Mendril sighed normally he wouldn't take quest if it isn't involved with killing the corrupted, but this was an event. Maybe it could open hidden doors, maybe he could find a way to escape this place sooner. When there's a change to gain something special once in a while, you should take it. Mendril slides through the grass and went to a little hill. He searched the horizon and started thinking. This place was quiet an peaceful, but the landscape was horrible and irritated his eyes. He rolled his black hair around his finger and closed his eyes.
Mendril fast traveled to the Nothing, a place full of emptiness. Mendril moved through the mist and found the NPC he was looking for.
''I was looking for you, Mirror,'' Mendril said and looked in her eyes.
He watched himself smile. Mirror had the incredible power to shape-shift into anyone she wants. If she could imitate Spectre, she could probably know where he's up to. She's a perfect example of knowing your enemy. On the other hand if she copied his explosive power, it would double the destruction. By that thought Mendril snickered and slashed with excitement his tail on the ground.
''I'm Mendril the Cannibal, I'm looking for spectre, got any leads?'' Mendril asked.

Sherbert had recently decided to help Cheat with the search for another NPC by the name of Spectre. He probably should have asked for a description of Spectre, considering Sherbert had no idea what he looked like. Maybe it was because he flew everywhere instead of walked... Oh well. But the dragon's improved senses allowed him to pick up another scent on Cheat when they first met. Probably Spectre. At least he could follow the scent now if he could find a trail. Currently walking along in the colorful land of Pink Lemonade, Sherbert made his way to a town. Some of the villagers offered him food, but Sherbert said that he would have some later since he was running an errand to all of their offers.
Whilst sniffing the streets of the town, Sherbert stopped in his tracks to hear his stomach growling. He really should have got some food. But food was not his main goal right now. He had to find Spectre, and no growling tummy would stop him from his goal. Raising his head from the ground to take a break from sniffing, Sherbert caught eye of what he believed to be a sheep-like NPC in nearby. Perhaps another NPC will know about Spectre's whereabouts? It was worth a shot. Walking over, Sherbert spoke up. " Er, excuse me? Do you by any chance know where someone named Spectre is? Sorry if I'm interrupting you or anything.. "
(( OOC: In case you cannot tell already, Sherbert is confronting Hungiie ))

They had startled Nûra nearly out of her skin, and she had dove back into the grass while the others talked with Cheat. She listened, though. And wondered. A missing person...? Someone she'd seen before, of course, though she didn't know them very well. She nodded, knowing she should help too. She would... well. Dyman. She was probably the only one who wouldn't automatically be attacked at any rate so it was worth a shot, right?
She headed in that direction, and found herself in Nine Nights Abyss with a sudden lack of transition. Disorienting... She gazed around, finding the poison shop, and went inside. Spectre... A question mark (?) formed, hovering by her head, as she marked out in a spare piece of paper and in a green marker - why green? who knows - the shape of the one she knew as Spectre.
Nûra looked up, nervous, pulling back from the snake. Could he understand what she wanted?
