The game world is lovely and all, but we are all trying to get back to the real world. So my question to you, dear player, is what is the real world to you? Who are you and what is there for you to return to? Just a nice little thread if you wanna give background on your characters~maybe show what they looked like as a human, talk a little about their life, and what is their biggest motivator to survive the nightmares that awake? I'ma animanga person, so both of my babe's human looks are gunna be anime FC's, but if you are more of a...fleshy real face (IDK what its called), they are fine too. Of course, you don't have to use a picture at all if you don't have one/don't care to talk about their human looks. Just share whatever you wish to here. Velveteen: =  Name:Kalas Minoru Age:20 (ssh I like 2s ok) Background: Kalas was only days old when he was left in the care of the Torakibo Orphanage, in a small town somewhere in the Hidaka Region. A sudden increase of immigration a few years earlier was speculated to be the cause of the swell of orphaned children the region was suddenly getting. Being more of a rural area, the orphanages were filling. There was less and less time to give the care needed for each and every child to grow to their best ability. The consequences for Kalas was especially dire, seeing how he never had a proper family background. He became extremely socially awkward, and schooling concepts took a little longer for him to understand. This led to a lot of bullying and isolation, which further corroded his social abilities. Kalas spent most of his early childhood moving from orphanage to orphanage, steadily getting closer to Osaka. The he he currently is in offered a recreational program for maladjusted children like himself, where he learned about his passion for art and his blatant genius in it. His art instructor encouraged him to enter his works into an upcoming culture festival, where he earned a moderate amount of fame. While his talent is truly authentic, the fame was more do to the fact that Osaka always gets overshadowed by the more traditional areas or the bigger cities in Japan. He was pushed as Osaka's claim to fame, got his own section in one of the art museums, and the hype quickly died down 3 years later. However, it put a fair chunk of cash in his hands, so he was able to afford things he never thought he would be able to. A computer, for example, videogame consoles, therapy sessions for his anxiety, and this god forsaken game... Whats so great about the real world?: In all honesty? Nothing. Kalas is almost just as content with living the rest of his life in this game as he is going home. He seems dysfunctional in both places, so it doesn't really matter. Or it wouldn't, if not for one thing...these "doll" arms and fingers...they aren't that good for painting...or drawing...or carving...or sculpting. Or really anything he loves to do. His world is entirely centered around art, but now he can't do it! Thats a big enough reason for him to go back to the world he fears so much. Riposte
 =  Name: Killian O'Conall Age:17 Background: Killian's mother is an Irish immigrant who came to the US to study abroad in San Francisco. She met her husband there, an ROTC student. His father continues to be on active duty, and his mother works hard as a pediatric doctor. That being said, Killian comes from a surprisingly educated and serious background for someone so...goofy. His mother had long given up on trying to push him into having more constructive hobbies and just accepted the fact that he is an idiot (so long he keeps his grades up). Killian hosts a "Lets Play" videogame channel and is the drummer/male vocals of a three person band. He has a younger twin sister, who often co-ops with him on his video game channel. All was good in his life until he was mailed this game with no return address. At this point, he was used to getting these kind of mails for "creepypasta" games, so he didn't think twice about playing it... Whats so great about the real world?: 1.Well, the fact that it is the real one, for starters. 2.Who wants to be a little crocodile monster for the rest of their life? 3.He has a family to get back to. His mom is probably screaming her head of in every police station in the state at this moment. 4. More importantly, he has a fanbase to get back to. He promised two videos a day and he intends to do such. 5. The most important one is that damn game is still there!What if his sister starts meddling through his stuff and gets stuck in this hellhole too?! |

 [ no don't worry about the guy in the corner! he's been in planning and som other stuff. ] RE:ALITYMisha ImaniFemale 17 years old A child raised in a somewhat poor family that only made a living by traveling and preforming in a small circus. Her best friend Edite was a girl her age who also worked in the circus, but had a terrible accident during one of the shows that resulted in her graphic and horrifying death. She suffered from a blood and injury phobia that carried over with her into the game, as well as a liking for people who resemble Edite. She is extremely acrobatic and flexible. When creating her player, Misha wanted to be tougher. More manly so she could help others. Instead, the game kept her feeble personality and made her unable to sit still for the rest of her time in the game. Work, work, work. Anything to feel useful. In the real world Buffalo is James Wingate, a 17 year old high school senior from Dallas. Roughly 5'9" and 120 lbs. He had pale and freckled skin with messy ginger hair and blue eyes; James preferred to go by his last name as there were four others that went by James in his grade alone. He was a gamer of all mediums and genres, often seen at the comic shop. His scrawny figure and stature helped him fit right in with the other regulars. Wingate spent more time playing games than studying or going out with friends, leading him to do poorly in school and be a bit socially awkward, creating a vicious cycle driving him to escape by playing more. When he started playing the game he felt a crow would be the best physical representation of him mentally. In regards to getting back to the real world Wingate is quite indifferent, he enjoys the escape, but wouldn't mind going back either.
Mabel Dunson is 16 years old, approximately 5'3", 98 lbs. (in your silly Yankee measurements.), has dark brown hair, green eyes, and is the face behind the mask of Bast. Born and raised just outside of Wellington she lead an active life playing football and even some rugby with her brothers and their friends. It was a shock to her and her family when she was diagnosed with Fredreich's Ataxia, a degenerative disease that targets the spinal cord, at 14. Her regular checkups indicated that the disease was progressing faster than expected leading to her being hospitalized for perpetual care at a nearby hospital almost a year after diagnosis. It was then that she began video gaming, what she originally thought of as a nerdy and lazy activity became one of her favorite pastimes, as it allowed her freedom that she hadn't felt in years. This game caught her attention over the controversy of the effectiveness of the rating system, she felt she had to see for herself what the fuss was about. She doesn't feel trapped in the game, and honestly feels like its a better deal than her real life situation at the moment.

Ahh, the real world.
Well, let's see.
Let's start with Y'Therial. Yi has decided to 'forget' about the real world as a coping mechanism. She's a writer still, of course, but in real life she has severe anxiety. This anxiety is so bad that she's decided to 'rework' herself, meaning that the Yi you see and interact with is not the real Yi. Real-life Y'Therial coped with her anxiety through characters, and Yi is just another character. Her real name is Rebecca Laurence, but she goes by Bek or Bekka. So though she keeps her sanity, she's pretending to be something else. Oh yeah and in real life she's about 20 and in college. She has a family she adores and they adore her, and she wants to get back. For her family and her college and a life she's making, anxiety aside.
Nûra is a different story. She was a kid. Yup. Ten years old in real life, Shannon Cooper thought the adorable graphics and low rating meant the game would be for her. When she was sucked into it, left in this terrifying world, she lost her sanity. Her character originally had a voice, but she stopped talking after she regressed far enough into insanity that she forgot her real life. It's going to be a bit of an adventure remembering herself. Not remembering another life, Nûra doesn't actually want to go back. Bringing up the fact she's a player and doesn't actually belong here is going to seriously upset her, so that is a bad bad idea.

Luce Gungnir Age: 39
Luce Gungnir is a tall, blond haired, German (1,92 m) living in Japan. His father started working for an Japanese company and moved with his wife to Japan. Luce was born in Japan and had a though time growing up. His parents stayed 99% German even in Japan. At home they eat with knife and fork, speak German and follows with a satellite German TV-channels. Luce had a hard time dealing with the clashing cultures. He looked up at his father, who denied everything that was Japanes and was a strict man with a keen eye for business. His father said once:''I only came here for the money, not for their culture.'' In elementary school he was always bullied, because he was different( and at the start a softie too) . One day a couple bullies {Secret} wich caused him to lose his soft personality. In middle school Luce became an delinquent, but his delinquent life ended when he went to highschool. His father had threatened him to kick out the house if he didn't study. Luce followed the footsteps of his father and worked under his wings. He discovered that the company he was working for was a loan shark company. Even on the workfloor his father is full fledged German, he doesn't bow his head, give others firm handshakes, but he did speak Japanese verry wel. His authority in the company was high and he was feared by the others. His parents decided to introduce German women to Luce as possible marriage partners. Especially his father insisted him to marry a German. Luce married with the first woman straight ahead. It was no hollow feelings or to please his father, at the moment he saw her it was true love. Luce Gungnir raised two daughters and spoiled them allot with gifts. He couldn't say no to his own kids. Later a third daughter was born, but from a different mother. It turned out that Luce had cheated on his wife during a party on the company. That time Luce had drunk to much beer, (the woman too) and did something he regret. Luce get blamed for ruining her marriage(she was also married) and drew him to court, he was forced to give her money monthly. She was a woman who desperately tried to get pregnant from her husband, but without success. When she got pregnant she and her husband was happy, but duo the spirits she had forgotten about the night with Luce. When truth was exposed everything went downwards. His father was disappointed, but luckily he was still allowed to work for him. He said:''I let you work here, because you're good in what you do, but not for you personality.'' His wife divorced with him, but luckily his daughters still loved him. Otherwise Luce wouldn't want to live anymore, after work he shuts himself in his new house, playing games all the time. Sometimes he wondered if he would be missed if he would be gone the very next day... Or the next game...
The reallife sucks, but that's not a good reason to escape from it. Luce desperately want to return to the real world, he got three reasons why. He decided to not be a coward, that he will escape from this game and he told himself that no world could bring him down. When he gets back, he will get his life back on rails. Maybe it was the game that made him realize that he shouldn't shut himself in his room and let time rot him away, that he should try to life on whatever what happends, that if you waste your life with games...you can rather die in it!
